“The One that Suits That Bouquet” - PART 1

Banri: Thanks for the meal.
Oh, Director-chan. I might come home a little later than usual today.
Izumi: That so? Sure thing.
You’ve been coming home late more often these days, huh. University classes got you that busy?
Banri: Ah, yeah, actually, we’ve been getting ready for a play in uni. All the preparation has everyone all busy-body.
Izumi: A university play… When’s showtime?
Banri: Should be within this period.
Izumi: That’s so soon… Hmm, that’s unfortunate. I’ve got a full schedule already, so I might not be able to catch it…
Banri: You must be pretty busy yourself.
Well, don’t feel too bad about it. If there’s ever a next time, then I’ll definitely invite you.
Izumi: Mh-hmm, thanks!
Banri: I should get going now. See ya.

Tsumugi: Ah, Banri-kun. Heading to school?
Banri: Yep… Hang on, you’re all covered in mud, Tsumugi-san. Been out gardening again?
Tsumugi: Ahaha, I’ve been tidying up the flowerbeds in the courtyard, and now I’ve ended up being this dirty. I should go change my clothes.
Banri: Not just your clothes, your face has gotten dirt on it too. Best to wash it off, ‘kay? Maybe a shower altogether would be even better.
Tsumugi: Eh, it’s that bad?
Banri: Check the mirror and see for yourself. Anyway, I’ll be off now.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Banri: Good work guys. See ya again tomorrow.
Amabi Student: Hold up, Settsu! Can you help us out with something?
Banri: What’s up?
Amabi Student: See, we’re short on props right now, so can I ask you to make one for us?
Banri: That all? Sure, I don’t mind.
What do you need me to make?
Amabi Student: Alright, so since you’re pretty skillful… Could you make the bouquet prop for the bride to hold?
Banri: Gotcha.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Banri: (Making a bouquet, huh… Just looking it up, it seems easy enough to follow.)
(But rather than getting instructions off the net, it’d probably be a lot faster to hear from an experienced person directly.)
So that being said…

Banri: Tsumugi-san, you free today? I need to get some of your advice on something
Tsumugi: Sure thing. I’m at the gardening shop right now, though
Banri: A gardening shop? Talk about coincidence.

Banri: That’s good timing actually. Hold on I’ll be heading there instead
Tsumugi: [Roger!]
Banri: Pfft—
(That reminds me, Tsumugi-san was all covered in dirt because he was working on the flowerbeds, wasn’t he? Guess it means he was planning to buy some flowers and grow them, huh.)
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Banri: And Tsumugi-san should be… Oh, there he is.
Izumi: These flowers are pretty cute!
Tsumugi: Then let’s buy them and plant them in the courtyard.
Banri: Sorry for making you wait, Tsumugi-san. So Director-chan was here with you, too.
Izumi: Ah, Banri-kun! Good work with classes today.
Tsumugi: It’s alright, we didn’t wait long.
So you said that the gardening shop was a timely visit. Did you have something to get here?
Banri: Ah, you see…

“The One that Suits That Bouquet” - PART 2

Banri: … So I was hoping you yourself could teach me how to make a bouquet.
Tsumugi: Fufu, I see. I’ll help out in any way I can, then.
Banri: Thanks. You’re saving me big time.
Izumi: Were there any flower types that you were assigned to get?
Banri: Nothing in particular. They said to they’ll leave it up to me and my own sense for it.
Tsumugi: Ahaha, I see. But I get what they mean though. If it’s Banri-kun, then I can feel that it’ll turn out alright.
Banri: Well, it’s not a bad feeling.
Tsumugi: Well then, shall we go ahead and pick some flowers? If it’s for a stage prop, then artificial flowers would be better than real ones.
As far as basics go, just about any flower could be used but… These flowers are the ones commonly used for bridal bouquets.
Banri: I see. So which ones are the staple?
Tsumugi: If it’s the staple, then it’s gotta be roses.
Banri: Ahh, I kinda get why.
Izumi: You can find rose bouquets just about everywhere, huh.
Banri: ‘Kay, then let’s have a bundle of roses to start things off.
Hmm… I guess it’s not that bad, but I kinda wanna change it up a bit.
Tsumugi: Then shall we find other flowers to put in it? Mixed flower bouquets are also a thing, after all.
Banri: Other flowers, huh… That’s true.
Which flowers would you want to receive, Director-chan?
Izumi: Me? Hmm… Let me see… These lisianthus flowers here are quite cute.
Banri: Then let’s add those in too.
Izumi: Is it okay for you to choose it so casually like that?!
Banri: No probs at all. See, they look pretty good together like this, don’t they?
Izumi: …That’s true.
Tsumugi: Fufu. Roses and lisianthus are actually a bouquet combo that you’d see often, so I think it’s a good choice.
Izumi: Is that so? Then… We’ll be going with this?
Banri: He said it’s good, right? Besides, I’m the one who asked, so you don’t need to mind it too much.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Banri: Director-chan, got a minute?
Izumi: What’s up, Banri-kun?
Banri: I finally finished making the bouquet prop I mentioned a while back, so I thought I’d let you see it. Check it.
Izumi: Woah, it’s gorgeous! As expected of Banri-kun.
Banri: Tsumugi-san gave me a helping hand with it, after all. And your pick with the lisianthus was the right choice after all.
Izumi: I’m glad I was able to help out even a bit.
Banri: Say, I wanna check how it looks balance-wise, so can you hold it up for a bit?
Izumi: Alright. …The size feels just right, too.
Banri: Yeah, looks good. Pretty cute.
Izumi: It really is a cute and charming bouquet~
Banri: Not the bouquet. Director-chan’s the cute one here.
Izumi: …Eh!? N-No way…!
Ah, that’s right! You should show me some photos of the play after you guys are done, okay?
Banri: Haha, sure thing.
— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —
Banri: Oh, there you are.
Izumi: Ah, Banri-kun. Your play in uni wrapped up today didn’t it? Good work on that.
Banri: Thanks. I got pictures to show you, just like you asked.
Izumi: Lemme see lemme see!
Banri: Here ya go.
Izumi: Oh wow, it looked like a lot of fun. I really wanted to watch it so badly… Ah, the bouquet is in this pic too!
Banri: The one I was in charge of, right?
Izumi: It really does look good like this.

▶︎ CHOICE 1: It’ll be picturesque on stage.
Izumi: The flowers’ colors really came out beautifully, it’ll be really picturesque on stage.
Banri: Ooh, good eye as always, Director-chan. You’ve noticed?
It's gonna be a stage prop, after all. I really kept in mind how it could look on stage and stuff will making it.
Izumi: Fufu, that’s just like you.
Banri: Hm?
Izumi: Every time you set up the stage, you think about the bigger picture and consider all the various elements of the performance.
Banri: …You really keep an eye on me, huh, Director-chan.
It really makes me happy that you do. Thanks for that.
▶︎ CHOICE 2: It suits well with the dress.
Izumi: The person in the bride’s role… The bouquet fits well with her dress’ design.
Banri: That was thanks to Tsumugi-san’s advice. Before we started making the bouquet, he told me to ask the dressmaker about the kind of outfit we were going to use.
So we thought about the bouquet’s design to match it after that.
Izumi: I see. So that’s why it’s such a perfect match-up!
Banri: Haha, you’re praising it too much.
Izumi: Not enough! If I have to hold a bouquet like this one day, I would totally want something that you made, if it turns out as good as this one!
Banri: When you have to hold a bouquet one day, huh…
Izumi: Hm, what’s the matter?
Banri: Nah, it’s nothing.
Izumi: Either way, this bouquet is just really charming. It makes the person in the bride's role really stand out.
Banri: You think so? If you asked me, I think you were pretty cute yourself when you held up the bouquet before, y’know.
Izumi: You’re saying silly stuff again…
Banri: I’m just stating the truth, can you blame me?
