“SPOTLIGHT EV: Side Alumni - CHAPTER 2"

Kazunari: (After officially getting the commission from Troupe Radiance, I made some roughs for the flyer all in one go, but…)
Hrmm… Something just feels off…
(Maybe there’s something I kinda, like, haven’t grasped yet… No lightbulb moment or anything… I guess when it came to our usual flyers, getting Tsuzuru’s feedback had always been a huge help.)
[KNOCK KNOCK]

Kazunari: Coming coming~
[DOOR OPENS]
Izumi: Hope I’m not disturbing you in your work, Kazunari-kun. There’s just something I need to discuss with you, could I have a moment?
Kazunari: Okieee! I’ll go there right now.

Tsuzuru: You even called Miyoshi-san over?
Kazunari: Huh, so you mean you wanted to discuss this with me and Tsuzuroon together?
Izumi: That’s right.
Actually, I was contacted by Kuraki-sensei— the advisor for Fuko High’s theatre club. [1]
Do you remember when MANKAI Company performed a play together with the club for the school’s Setsubun Festival?
They were hoping to see if it’d be alright to use the script Tsuzuru-kun wrote for them and perform a rerun with the theatre club’s current members.
Tsuzuru: Ohh, so that’s why!
I don’t mind at all, I’d love to see how the theatre club is doing now.
Kazunari: Samesies! I wanna see the play too!
Izumi: I’m glad to hear that. I was just about to ask your thoughts on it, but it seems like I already have your OK.
Kazunari: More than OK! We’ve gotta hype them up!
Izumi: Oh, one more thing; Kuraki-sensei was also hoping that, if you guys have the time, you wanted to check out their rehearsals if only even for a small while.
Tsuzuru: Of course! I really want to go, so I’ll let you know if I can afterward.
Kazunari: I really wanna go too! ….. But as much as I do, work probs’ has to come first. Sorry…
Izumi: It’s not your compulsion to do so, so don’t worry about it. Having a huge workload already sounds tough, so please don’t push yourself.
Kazunari: Yeah. Thanks, Director-chan.

[DOOR CLOSES]
Tsuzuru: Are you that busy right now, Miyoshi-san?
I did have you take on that flyer commission I told you about before… I feel bad, with the timing and all…
Kazunari: Aw, what are you saying~ It’s not something you have to feel bad about at all!
I took it because I wanted to, so if anything, I’m grateful. And I’m making sure I’m not biting off more than I can chew, so don’t mind it.
Besides, I know I said work should come first, but I’ve been feeling stuck with the designs for that very flyer job.
I was given loads of time for it anyway, so I figured I should make as many rough drafts as I could.
Tsuzuru: Well, if there’s anything I can help with, let me know. I’m the one who told you about the offer, after all.
Kazunari: For realsies!? TBH, I was just thinking earlier that I’d usually want to get your perspective in the middle of these sort of things~
But if we’re gonna do that, you’re gonna need to look through the script too so we should check with the other troupe if that’s okay.
Tsuzuru: Got it.
… Also, as I thought, how about we go to Fuko High after all?
I’m not saying you should force yourself if you can’t, but for times like these when you’re stuck in one place, I think it’s necessary to go for a change of pace and do something unrelated to work.
It’s even possible that you’ll suddenly come up with new ideas while you’re at it too.
Kazunari: … That’s important too, you’re right.
Well! I was starting to feel like I should take work priority first, but maybe I’ll go with you after all, Tsuzuroon!
