“The Top of the Blue Yonder" - CHAPTER 7"

Tatsumi: The faculty staff slowly left the place one by one, and when they decided to close the school, every one of the students and teachers gathered here and cried their hearts out.
Even the Rep', as strong as he’s always been in my eyes, had started crying too. Once I saw him like that, even I couldn’t stop my own tears from falling.

Banri & Kumon: ……
Tatsumi: It was right after that— The Rep' told us about how he had dreams of becoming an actor in the future. He seemed embarrassed by it— it was unlike him, after all.
There were all sorts of possibilities on what an abandoned school could be used for, but right then and there, all I could think of was making this place into a rehearsal studio someday.
Kumon: This Rep'… He must’ve been a really important friend to you huh, Tatsumi-san.
Tatsumi: I suppose so… But look at me, talking your ears off! You said you needed me for something?
Banri: Some weirdos were lingering around the studio entrance earlier— There were maybe 2 or 3 of them. They left soon enough, but it did seem like they were acting really strange.
Kumon: That’s why we’re kinda worried….
Tatsumi: I see. It’s a hunch, but I bet those guys are some folks who came to see about the rumors that have been going around.
Kumon: Eh, you think so!?
Banri: I figured as much.
Tatsumi: Mh-hmm. Something like this has happened before too.
Some guys were loitering by the entrance, and when I called out to them, they started getting worked up, telling me not to hit them, or that if I came any closer, they’d take a pic of me and post about it on social media.
Banri: ……The hell? That’s just nasty.
Tatsumi: I know, right? So while I thought about catching them on the act, they made a run for it faster than I could react.
Kumon: You wanted to catch them!?
Tatsumi: Well, of course. They’d be considered trespassers of private property.
Kumon: But there’s a chance they’d make even more weird comments if you do, y’know! You’re crazy tough for that, Tatsumi-san!
Tatsumi: Haha. Well, it wouldn’t matter to me what they say. I know I’m not in the wrong.
I say that, but it’s gotten to this point where even I’m starting to get fed up with all the wrong kind of attention my studio has been getting online.
Banri: (I’ve been thinking about it, but they’re similar after all— This, and that time when I got flamed over a fake article that someone made of me.) [1]
(They even went as far as acting like some paparazzi or somethin’ and tailgated me with a car, waiting for the chance to get a pic of me getting angry ‘n stuff…)
Tatsumi: …Ah, sorry. I might’ve brought up some bad memories for you, huh?
Banri: It’s not…
Wait. Tatsumi-san, you knew of my sitch? The time I got flamed on online…
Tatsumi: Yeah. I happened upon a clip of your portrait act on social media, and just like that, I eventually watched the archive of the whole thing.
The way you fumbled, the way you gave it your all, even so far as crying your heart out with every word you said. When I saw you like that, it was like you gave me courage for myself too.

Banri: ………
Tatsumi: I had only known of MANKAI Company by name until then. But after that, I decided I’d go to watch their performances from then on.
Banri: …..Thanks. It’s stupid embarrassin’ for me though, to be honest.
Kumon: Hang on. Tatsumi-san, does that mean you’re a Banri stan!? Nii-chan is way cooler than him though!!
Banri: Oi, Kumon. You got guts sayin’ that in front of the person you’re badmouthing, y’know.
Tatsumi: Ahaha. I suppose I can call myself a fan of Settsu-kun, huh.
Truth be told, that Rep' I’ve been talking about? You remind me a bit of him.
Banri: Huh, for real?
Tatsumi: Speaking of, and this is a bit off-topic, the Rep' seems to be looking forward to seeing this performance, being a MANKAI Company fan himself.
That’s why I’m prepared to take measures against any suspicious figures to make sure that everyone can properly focus on the performance. So, rest easy.
Banri: Got it.
Kumon: Thanks!!

Kumon: We’re home!
Banri: Sorry we were out so late…. Director-chan? Something up?
Izumi: …….
Misumi: ……
Kumon: Even Sumii-san seems to be sulking. Just what happened here?
