Sakuya + Tenma Mini Talk

Tenma: I know we’re doing etudes for the upcoming event, but…
The general setting hasn’t been decided yet, has it? I’m excited to know what it’ll be.
Sakuya: I can’t wait to hear about it too!
The amazing thing about etudes is that they change depending on who’s acting, what the mood is like, and even how the audience will react!
Tenma: You’re right there. One has to observe the other’s acting, then get pulled into the tone they set up before reacting accordingly to it.
Sakuya: I get what you mean! When you get pulled into their performance, even your own acting changes just a little bit with it.
Tenma: And when you influence each other like that, you can pull off yet another kind of performance with it. And all that is what makes etudes interesting.
Sakuya: There’s the appeal of acting according to the script, of course, but doing etudes brings its own unexpected results, doesn’t it?
Tenma: Well, in Summer Troupe’s case, even when we have a script, we do so many ad-libbed scenes that it even drags on and on before we finish them.
Sakuya: Ahaha, but even those are a hit with the audience, right? I absolutely love watching them too; they’re so fun!!
I really hope we get to do some fun etudes in our next event too— ones that everyone in the venue will be able to enjoy.
I’ll do my best to do acts that would be able to pull you and the others in!
Tenma: Hmph, well said. You all better prepare yourselves for when I show off my magnetic acting as well.

Tsuzuru + Yuki Mini Talk

Tsuzuru: It’s about time for us to go. Didn’t forget anything, did you?
Yuki: Everything’s here. All of the luggage with the outfits has been sent ahead of time already.
Tsuzuru: I see. But you’ve still got a lot more stuff here with you. I’m barely carrying anything, so why don’t I help you with those?
Yuki: Thanks. I could use the hand.
Tsuzuru: Oh, I hear the place we’re going to is gonna be pretty cold. Have you got your coats and other winter gear all prepped too?
Yuki: … You know, it’s always been on my mind, but you really do just naturally have this trait to look after others, don’t you? Like a brother who’s attentive… A brother who’s meddlesome…
Tsuzuru: Ahh… I guess it’s because whenever I go out with my little brothers, I always have to keep my eye on them… I kinda just fell into the same habit…
Yuki: I mean, it’s helpful in its own way too.
At this rate, I may as well let you handle all the carrying when we go buy souvenirs before we go home too. So look forward to that, Tsuzuru-onii-chan.
Tsuzuru: ….. Somehow that doesn’t exactly feel right. Coming from you.
Yuki: Same here. I just gave it a shot, but it did feel pretty wrong.
Tsuzuru: But I’ll still help you out with all the bags, so if you could help me choose some souvenirs for my brothers, we’ll call it even, yeah?
Yuki: Sure thing. It’s better to make the most out of the souvenir hunting while we’re at the countryside, after all.

Banri + Tsumugi Mini Talk

Tsumugi: Fufu, everyone’s looking well, don’t they?
Banri: You’re in a good mood yourself, Tsumugi-san.
Tsumugi: Spring is the time when all sorts of sprouts start growing and flowers start blooming. It’s nice seeing the garden so lively like this.
It’s gotten me all excited too, knowing I’ve been helping them grow like this.
Banri: I see what you mean. I’ve never had even a sliver of interest in plants before I moved to the dorms…
But after listening to how you talk about ‘em, I can’t help but think how we’ve got some nice blooms poppin’ up whenever they catch my eye recently. Even I've started feeling relaxed by the sight of the courtyard.
Tsumugi: Fufu. It makes me so happy to hear whenever you and the others feel at ease with the courtyard’s flora.
Banri: Oh you know what, speakin’ of spring, have I told ya ‘bout the cafe in the next town over? They’ve opened up tables at their terrace that overlooks their garden.
Plus they’ve got this cherry-blossom butter toast on their seasonal menu. Heard it’s been a big hit.
Tsumugi: Really? I’d love to visit them now.
Watching the garden while having cherry-blossom butter toast… That really gives off a springtime image, doesn’t it?
Banri: I figured you’d love it. Then are we set to check it out maybe sometime this weekend?
Tsumugi: Please! Thanks for telling me, I can’t wait to see it.

OUTING TALK #1 (Sakuya, Tsuzuru, Tenma, Yuki, Banri, Tsumugi)

Tenma: Considering the theme and the outfits we got prepared, it seems like we’re all going to have prince roles for the etudes in the upcoming event.
Tsumugi: The last time everyone got prince roles was during our special performance, “Festival of Nihil”[1], wasn’t it?
Banri: It’s ain’t often that we get plays where all of the characters are princes, but we’ve all had plenty of prince roles before.
Sakuya: I can only imagine how difficult it is to play a prince role that’s a graceful and dignified character, all while having the mannerisms look natural too…
Yuki: I wouldn’t exactly call this ham actor dignified, but he’s already got this self-important attitude on the daily; I’m sure he’ll be fine if he just acts like himself, wouldn’t he?
Tenma: Why you—!!
Tsuzuru: Depending on the setting, we could still have prince roles who are the rough types, or even the energetic types.
But mannerisms would be where you'd get the impression of their rich upbringing. Putting more depth in the performance would also make it a more convincing prince character.
Actually, Citron-san is pretty good with that, now that I think about it.
Banri: Sure, but ain’t he a real-deal prince anyway?
Yuki: Well, the costumes for this event have plenty of flair to them. You could assume the prince is a graceful one even from the sight of the outfits alone.
Sakuya: So we gotta make the most of the aura that the costumes present, like say, by acting out a prince whose character is very dazzling….
On the other hand, there’s a nice gap to a prince who’s blunt and crude too.
Tsumugi: Ohh, I do think it’d be great if we do etudes with all sorts of prince types for our next event.
On that note, we could practice by having everyone act as princes with similar attitudes.
Yuki: In that case, we should do the basic of basics of prince types— the elegant and radiant type.
Tenma: That’s a good point. If we practice with the fundamentals, then all parties would be able to study from each other’s mannerisms and speech.
Banri: And once we get used to that, we can slowly give our characters a lil’ more individuality while not straying too far from the same type. That sounds good, yeah?
Tsuzuru: Basically, all of us will keep acting as the radiant type while shifting the character in our own way, right?
Sakuya: Ohh! It sounds difficult, but we could learn a lot from a practice like that!
Tsumugi: It does sound really interesting.
Tenma: Right then. I know it’s late but let’s try it out in the rehearsal room right away.
Banri: I’m sure it’ll be fine if we do a couple of rounds. Just gotta make sure we don’t stay up too late.
Yuki: … The image of an etude that’s filled with nothing but classy princes would be too dazzling. Someone’s bound to catch us, take one look at us and think we’re crazy.
Tsuzuru: I can kinda see that… Well, I’m sure no one’s using the rehearsal room at this hour anyway.

Citron + Homare Mini Talk

Homare: What a gorgeous view… The way the cherry blossoms dance in the wind is such a dreamlike sight.
Citron: It is truly beautiful~ Seeing how the petals fall so softly and gracefully inspires me to dance with them as well!
~~ ♪ ~~~♪♪
Homare: Oh my! It’s almost like an artistic collaboration between you and the blossoms——
Citron: ——HACKCHOOOOOOO!!
Homare: Excuse you!?
Citron: Sorry! The spring breeze gave my nose a little tickle-tickle.
Homare: Oh! What a brilliant phrase! Inspiration is flowing into me!
A cherry-blossom-colored dance, a spring-breeze step. A trickster fairy who likes to cast sneezes, that is what you are…
You have my gratitude, Citron-kun! I need to write this down immedi—
——AAACHHEEOOOOO!!
Citron: Oh no! It seems the spring-breeze fairy played a trick on you too, Homare.
Homare: Hahaha! It would seem so. Springtime just gets so wonderfully warm that it is difficult to resist this much merriment, no?

Masumi + Tasuku Mini Talk

Masumi: … What’s with the short-sleeves?
It’s gotten warmer, sure, but you can tell it’s still cold, right?
Tasuku: You’re right, it has gotten warmer— which is exactly why I get a bit too sweaty when I have long-sleeves on.
My body already gets warmed up when I do my running and other training, so having these clothes on feels just right for me. Especially on a sunny day like this.
Masumi: Suit yourself, I guess. It’s probably more convenient anyway, if you think about it.
Tasuku: Convenient how?
Masumi: I’ve been helping out with the costumes for the next event, and Yuki and Taichi were just talking about the budget this time.
They made a budget proposal at the start, like they always do, but Sakyo doesn’t always approve their initial plans.
Tasuku: Now that you mention it, I always see them having to negotiate with Sakyo for the costume budget.
Masumi: But in your case… Since you’ve got a good physique and can handle the cold, it’d mean you’re fine with less clothing— less fabric.
So if you consider the budget, spending less on materials would be much more convenient for those two, actually.
Tasuku: …… Look, I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think spending less on me would make that much of a difference.

Itaru + Muku Mini Talk

[DOOR OPENS]
Itaru: Home sweet home.
Muku: Welcome back, Itaru-san. Uhm, can I have a moment?
Itaru: Hm? What’s up?
Muku: You see, I’m going to be hosting a joint gathering with the shoujo manga club and the literature club soon. One of the things we have planned is introducing our recommended titles to each other.
We came up with the idea since we heard about a seasonal day for celebrating books called “Saint George’s Day.”[2]
Itaru: Sounds like a fun meeting— nothing gets one fired up like getting to talk about your fave works, after all.
Muku: Ehehe, I hope it turns out well too!
I’m going to advertise it to everyone else by writing it on the dorm’s whiteboard too, so…
I know you like books too, Itaru-san, so I was hoping you could join us too. If you’re interested, that is… What do you think?
Itaru: Well now. If you ask me so forwardly like that, then there’d be no such thing as a “reject” dialogue choice for me, is there?
So of course, I’d be happy to join.
Muku: Uwahh, thank you so much! I’ll let you know more of the details later.
Itaru: NP. Who knows, the guys in this troupe could have some surprising recs to give— plus they know how to make a good presentation. I might just end up getting into their stuff too.
Looks like I gotta lock in and go off about my faves too. Let’s see how far deep the members can drag each other down into their own pits.

OUTING TALK #2 (Masumi, Itaru, Citron, Muku, Tasuku, Homare)

Itaru: So we’ve got shuffled units for this White Day event, and the topic of our segments is up to each team…
But it seems like everybody’s got a whole bunch of ideas prepared.
Tasuku: Besides the usual acting performances, we’ve got ideas for a talk show, a quiz game… Even a segment that the audience can participate in.
Muku: Having an audience to see our show is always welcome and all, but it’s so fun to have special events like these where we can interact with our fans!
Citron: Yes indeed! We get to tell more about ourselves to our fans, and it’ll lead us to feel closer to them too~
Homare: They could learn more about how we have a number of members who do plenty of behind-the-scenes work, as well as those who have expertise in things outside of theatre.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to show our fans yet another side of us— another charm of ours.
Masumi: There seems to be a lot of fans who do want to see different sides to us. Not just in acting, but also in regular talk segments and stuff.
Muku: Speaking of side work, Yuki-kun mentioned that his team came up with a quiz portion related to our costumes.
Tasuku: Interesting. Not only will it give more attention to the outfits we’ve worn, but it’ll be a great leeway to talk about the behind-the-scenes of our performances.
Itaru: Oh, you know what, if we combine that quiz idea with what Masumi mentioned— the part about showing another side of ourselves——
Then we can totally do quizzes centering on each member. Right?
Citron: Oh that sounds so fun! I want to do that!
Tasuku: If the questions focus on info about the members, it sounds like the kind of thing that would usually be played in our troupe’s New Year’s party… But it might just work for a fan gratitude event like this.
Homare: Then, say, for example… “On this list of desserts that Omi-kun has made, which of the following is the one that has moved me the most?”
Muku: Ah, I know this one! It’s the strawberry tart, isn’t it?
Homare: Ooh, that it is! I would’ve expected no less from you, Muku-kun!
Muku: Ehehe, I remember you talking about how incredible it was! Those tarts were so delicious, after all.
Citron: Then here is a question from me!
“What was the gacha banner which left Itaru rolling 200 times until he hit pity and still didn’t end up with the featured SSR?”
Itaru: GUH…… Why would you put out a question that only rubs salt to my wound…
Tasuku: What the hell kind of question even is that…
Masumi: But I think the fans would have fun with these kinds of questions. We should put that one in too.
Itaru: Please don’t give me too much suffering.
Muku: U-Uhm! Anyway, other than the quiz, it’ll be really great if we could give the guests a whole bunch of events they could have fun with!
Homare: Indeed. All teams should work to make it a White Day event that’ll bring out a bountiful of smiles!

Omi + Azuma Mini Talk

Azuma: Fufu, the scent of cherry blossoms is so comforting…
I often enjoy eating traditional sweets, but it’s not so bad to make it yourself every once in a while.
Omi: Right? Especially with these kinds of sweets— you can really feel that it’s springtime while making them.
Azuma: I get what you mean. So next I roll the leaf like this… How does that look?
Omi: Oh, that looks good. These are some fantastic and tasty-looking Kansai-style sakura-mochi.
Alright, looks like the dough for the Kanto-style mochi is done baking too.
Azuma: Oh they look splendidly baked as well. They must taste delicious.
Omi: Speaking of, I hear they also call the Kansai-style sakura-mochi as “domyouji”; meanwhile Kantou-style ones get called as “chomeiji”. [3]
Azuma: They do. And getting the chance to have both at the same time feels like such a luxurious treat.
Shall I start wrapping those mochi as well?
Omi: Please. Once these are done, we should get to preparing some drinks too; I’m thinking of bringing out some matcha, hojicha, coffee… And a few other selections, maybe.
Azuma: It’s going to be fun trying every sort of match-up with these mochi. Now I’m looking forward to our snack time even more.

[WIND BLOWS]
Kazunari: Aaahh!! Wait up!! Stop flying awaaaay—!!
Sakyo: … Hm?
[PAPER RUSTLES]
Kazunari: (pant pant) … Thank you for picking it up! I’m sorry for the trouble——
Wait. It’s you, Furuuche-san!
Sakyo: Ah, Miyoshi. I take it that this drawing is yours then?
Kazunari: Yep yep! I was just doodling some spring foliage by the riverbed when the wind blew my sketch away. I got up to chase it and here I am!
Seriously, thanks for grabbing it for me~
Sakyo: It just happened to land by my feet. Now that I look at it though, your drawings are as good as ever.
Kazunari: Hehe, thankies~
——Woah, pause. Now that I think about it, don’t you think the scene just now was like, pretty dramatic?
Sakyo: How so?
Kazunari: Like, the spring breeze does a little prank on you by sending your sketch flying, and as you chase it, you bump into an intimidating but handsome-looking guy who picks it up for you…
And then he gives you a lil’ smile and compliments your drawing! It’s a totally emotional, totally heart-throbbing scene you could find in a shoujo manga!
Oh man, I gotta give Mukkun the deets ASAP once I get back! No wait, scratch that, let’s instead recreate this same scene right in front of him!
Sakyo: No thanks. For crying out loud, just what kind of suggestion even is that…

Misumi: Pheeeeew~ It feels so nice and warm today~!
Juza: Must be the spring weather, right? It’s warm, for sure. Makes it easy to relax.
Misumi: And it smells like spring too~
Juza: Smells like spring?
Misumi: Yeah! The smell of the grass, the freshly grown leaves, the flowers… Just try breathing it in, Juza~!
Juza: …You’re right. I can definitely smell the grass and the flowers. And, I don’t know how to explain it, but even the ground kinda has that feeling of spring too.
Misumi: Exactly! It’s a gentle and sweet smell~
——Hm? (sniff sniff)
Juza: Huh. Isn’t there like a sweet-smellin’ scent drifting from over there?
Misumi: Ah—! Juza, look! It’s a food truck selling crepes!
Juza: Cherry-blossom crepes… And mugwort crepes…?
Misumi: They look so yummy! Let’s go and eat some together!
Juza: Sure. Y’know, this might be just another one of the scents of spring too.

OUTING TALK #3 (Misumi, Kazunari, Juza, Omi, Sakyo, Azuma)

Misumi: We’re going to go meet fans in other regions for the White Day event, right? I’m really looking forward to it!
Kazunari: Samesies! I literally can’t contain my excitement♪ I wanna get everyone all pumped up! Like super pumped up!
Omi: I’m quite surprised you’d allow the event to go through without so much as a rebuttal, Sakyo-san. Especially considering the expenses to tour all the way to the countryside.
Sakyo: Well, I suppose it’s also got to do with how Sumeragi and the others managed to present to me a good cost-effective plan to go with it…
Plus, if there’s one thing to be thankful for, it’s the fact that we have plenty of fans in the countryside who support us too.
We can’t count them out from the people who helped us nab the nomination for the Fleur Award.
That’s why we have to properly show our gratitude to them.
Juza: Right. I’ve got loads of fans who I wanna give thanks through my acting as well.
Azuma: It’ll be nice to give them a full live performance— I bet most of them have usually watched us only through live streams.
We’ll have them feel the full experience of watching theatre and liven up our show even more as our audience gets more excited from watching us.
Omi: It’d be great to put in some region-related adlibs too. We could learn a lot from being in a different place than usual, after all.
Kazunari: ‘Course, it goes without saying, but since we’re going on a tour anyway, I wanna enjoy the trip with everyone!
Sakyo: We’re not going for a leisure trip, mind you…
Azuma: Now now, don’t you think it’s important to get to know the local sites too? The experience of going on long-distance travels might prove useful for our performances.
Kazunari: Exactly! We gotta get our fill of food-hopping and sightseeing while we’re on-location away from home, y’know!
Misumi: More places means more triangles for me to find! Do you think they have local recipes for onigiri? Let’s find them together, Sakyo!
Juza: I’ll be sure to do my best for the event, but I wanna get a taste of some famous local sweets in between too.
Sakyo: (sighs) …I suppose it’d appeal to the fans if we post our photos while on tour too.
So you’d best make sure to take those photos when you go sightseeing. You hear me?
Omi: Roger that. I’ll take as many photogenic shots as I can.
Kazunari: You can count on us! Time for me to do some research on some good photo spots.
Juza: I’ll try to take some pics with the camera Omi-san gave to me.
Misumi: I’ll be taking vids with my phone~!
Azuma: Fufu. Getting to do fan meets and travelling around with our assigned groups… It already sounds like it’s going to be a fun event indeed.

Kumon + Azami Mini-Talk

Kumon: Hrmm… Yeaaaah, maybe the alien thing would be the best option…
Azami: The hell are you talking about?
Kumon: April fool’s is just around the corner, right? I’m trying to think of which would be the best kind of lie to go with!
Azami: Oh right… Everyone in the dorms throws around all sorts of joke settings during April Fool’s. Like an unbelievable number of them.
Kumon: Right? Which is why I wanna come up with a prank that’ll make for a good laugh.
It’s especially fun since we’ve got Tenma-san— he makes the best reactions!
Azami: Honestly, that’s relatable. Taichi-san gives some real satisfying reactions too, so it makes me wanna trick him even more for April Fool’s.
Kumon: Then we should come up with an April Fool’s prank that’ll surprise both of them!
Azami: You wanna plot somethin’ together? In that case, we might as well play a trick on someone other than those two— like that bastard, Shift.
Kumon: Great idea, yeah!! I totally wanna pull a prank on him too! Buuuut… I doubt he’s gonna be that easy to trick.
Azami: Well, that’s why we’re gonna do some proper prep to make it work. I’m down to even make some props if we have to.

Chikage + Guy Mini-Talk

Guy: Ah, Utsuki. Good timing.
Chikage: Guy-san? Do you need me for something?
Guy: I’m writing a letter to Mika right now.
I was going to ask if you had anything you’d like to include in our regular Zahra delivery. I could write your request here as well…
Chikage: Well now, thank you for the thought. I was actually hoping to get more spices from Zahra— would that be alright to request then?
Guy: Of course. If you could give me a list of the spices later, I’ll enclose it with my letter.
Chikage: Thanks. Mika always sends in a lot of things for us, so I feel like I should give something back in return for all his hard work.
Since it’s finally spring, I wonder if he’d be pleased to receive some cherry-blossom patterned goods and cherry-blossom confectionery?
Guy: I’m sure he’ll be thrilled. Both Mika and Prince Tangerine have a deep love and interest in Japan, after all.
Speaking of spring… Perhaps I’ll ask him to deliver some Zahran liquor as well.
I remember you asking for more after you took a liking to the one we had some time ago. We could drink a bottle while flower-viewing at night— once it arrives, of course.
Chikage: That sounds delightful. I’ll have to find some good snacks to accompany it for when that time comes.

Taichi: Hisoka-san, Hisoka-san!! Can I have a sec?
Hisoka: … What’s up, Taichi?
Taichi: I’m trying to come up with a White Day return gift for my lil’ sis, Mii-chan.
The two of us made some chocolate together, yeah, but she also made some on her own to give to me, so now I wanna give back to her.[4]
I went through a ton of research, but I wanna know what our Marshmallow Expert Hisoka-san thinks! Got any recommendations?
Hisoka: … There’s these fruit guimauve that I’ve been recently into. The confectionery store across the station sells them. They’re pretty sweet and tasty.
There were also some delicious new macarons that Juza told me about before. I think your sister will like them for how cute and colorful they are.
Taichi: Ooohh! You really are an expert! I gotta take note of these…
Hisoka: Oh. There’s also the candy store in the shopping district… I previously saw them making some sweets with animals drawn on them; I think little kids would like those too.
Taichi: Ah! You’re right, Mii-chan will love those! You know just the stuff I needed to hear!
Hisoka: No problem. I hope she’ll like what you get for her.

OUTING TALK #4 (Chikage, Kumon, Taichi, Azami, Hisoka, Guy)

Azami: So each team is split up to hold events in their respective regions, right? I can imagine the difference in teams will also make each event a little different to the others.
Kumon: Right? Like, I’m excited for our team’s event, but I can’t help but be curious how the other teams will do!
Taichi: Same here! It’s gonna be so fun to hear about everyone’s stories about their trips after all of this is done!
Guy: I can imagine there’ll be plenty to share about each team’s event.
And since our locations are all different, I’d love to get some local delicacies and other souvenirs for the other teams too.
Taichi: Imagine all the souvenir exchanging we’ll be doing! Everyone’s gonna get excited for that for sure!
Chikage: The list of souvenirs is just gonna get even longer if we’re considering the best kinds of gifts to give to each member.
Azami: You always bring back a bunch of stuff whenever you go on business trips, don’t you? … I know you sometimes bring home some spicy stuff too.
Chikage: And that’s just one of the reasons why going to the countryside is going to be interesting.
Hisoka: Azuma, Juza, Muku, and I also had a conversation about exchanging each region’s sweets if we find some.
I’m looking forward to trying a diversity of marshmallows from all these places.
Kumon: The sweet tooth group already talked about it ahead of time!? Dang.
Hehe, then I gotta search for some sweets that Nii-chan will love too. ‘Course, I’ll keep an eye out for some marshmallows too!
Hisoka: Thanks, Kumon.
Chikage: Meanwhile, I can picture all the adults going for the local liquor as a souvenir.
Guy: I had the same plans too. I’m quite interested in tasting a variety of alcohol from each region.
Taichi: And you, Aachan? Are you gonna check out the local cosmetic goods?
Azami: Yeah. But if we have time to spare, I was hoping to stop by the hot springs that're known to be beneficial to the skin.
Hisoka: I’m guessing the locals would be the most knowledgeable about what kind of marshmallows and sweets are being sold in their region…
I’ll have to ask our guests their recommendations when we get there.
Kumon: Great idea, actually! Maybe we should prompt the question on our event’s talk segment?
Guy: That is certainly a conversation that’s fitting to have when going to the countryside. I concur.
Azami: I can already see our table there just packed with a mountain of souvenirs once everyone comes back home.
